BEDS thanks Americorps staff members Alex Leone and Natalie Breeden

BEDS would like to thank our Americorps staff members Alex Leone and Natalie Breeden for their year of service.

"It was an opportunity of a lifetime and a pleasure working for BEDS Plus staff," said Alex.

Americorps positions are temporary 12-month, full-time assignments funded by BEDS in partnership with Americorps. The case aide assists in the management of the Support Center activities and assists the program's case management staff. Case aides are responsible for several duties, including intake, assessment and referral services to clients referred from the Emergency Shelter to the Support Center. They help to move clients beyond emergency shelter services by linking clients to BEDS Plus Care's basic services and case management team. Case aides also provide crisis intervention, advocacy and education on behalf of clients.

Natalie is now a Community Health Worker on staff at BEDS and said the Americorps position was an amazing experience.

"I learned so much about working with people, problem solving and being flexible," she said. "My service year very much prepared me for the next step in my career."
