3rd Annual Racing for Home
Support the Sandburg Cross Country Team and BEDS Plus!
On Sunday, August 16, the Sandburg High School Cross Country Team will run 12 miles from Rate Field to Wrigley Field during the 3rd Annual Racing for Home to raise funds and awareness for BEDS Plus. They will leave Rate (Comisky) around 8:30 am and arrive at Wrigley around 10 am.
What began as one student’s idea has grown into a team tradition. Over the past two years, the runners have raised more than $20,000 to help people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
This year, lifelong Cubs fan Brayden Gaffud is leading the run, putting his own spin on the tradition by finishing at Wrigley Field.
Why It Matters
Last year, BEDS Plus helped nearly 6,000 individuals and family members with emergency shelter, housing, meals, outreach, and supportive services. Every donation helps ensure our neighbors have a safe place to turn when they need it most.
