Walk-In Center

BEDS operates a low-barrier Walk-In Center where people facing homelessness can access food and basic supplies, financial assistance, shelter program screenings, and other resources.  The Center is located at (7666 W. 63rd Street, Summit, IL 60501), and walk-in hours are from 12-4PM, Monday through Saturday. Eviction Prevention

BEDS Plus provides financial assistance to households at imminent risk of homelessness through multiple programs:

• A Diversion program, which provides one-time assistance to keep households out of shelters and reinforces their existing supports;
• A Housing Navigation program, in which community health workers support housing search and provide limited move-in support for vulnerable households;
• A Homelessness Prevention program, which offers direct financial support for past due rent and security deposits for new affordable housing. To obtain a referral for rental assistance, please contact:

Street Outreach

BEDS Street Outreach program engages people living outdoors. We offer food and basic supplies, case management, and connections to housing and supportive services, including municipal resources, health and behavioral healthcare providers, and other human services.  Our relationship-based approach is client-centered, strives to reduce harm and provides many opportunities for each individual to engage in services.  If you encounter anyone living outdoors in Southwest Suburban Cook County, call (708) 354-0858.

Customized Case Management and Services

All Emergency Services clients partner with case managers to make individual service plans for managing the causes and effects of homelessness and regaining and sustaining housing. BEDS connects them to wraparound care, including:
