Join us in celebrating Stephanie, a valued member of our team at BEDS!
Over a year ago, Stephanie joined us as the Director of Emergency Services, and her leadership has been pivotal in opening the Linda Sokol Francis Summit Service Center. With a Bachelor’s in Criminology from Marquette University, a Master’s in Public Health, and a Master’s in Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University, Stephanie boasts a diverse educational background.
With over 12 years of experience in the medical field, she has successfully managed the largest Covid-only site for Dupage Medical Group during the peak of the pandemic.
Stephanie’s wealth of expertise makes her a valuable addition to our organization.
Stephanie’s journey with BEDS has deepened her understanding of the housing process and the critical role of medical respite care.
Stephanie shared, “Without a suitable discharge plan for their presenting illness, clients might not heal and could experience further deterioration.” She recounted the story of one client who lacked a discharge option, leading to the inability to undergo hip surgery. “Witnessing him undergo surgery, therapy, and eventually move into his unit is just one success story, but it illustrates the critical importance of medical respite.”
Stephanie is proud of the collaborations BEDS has forged with Loyola's Street Medicine Team and Hines VA, among others. Looking ahead, Stephanie is eager to strengthen partnerships, expand options for housing/bridge units, and pursue further education in public health. She is grateful for the support she received from staff like Shannon, Chief Program Officer and Zac, Manager of Street Outrach during her initiation into a new position, particularly in understanding the housing aspect of her work.
Her dedication is an asset to BEDS Plus, and her commitment impacts the lives of those she serves. In this inaugural year alone, Stephanie’s team has successfully transitioned over 20 individuals to housing.
Join us in celebrating her contributions and the positive impact she continues to make in our community!
