Meet BEDS Manager of Intake Danielle Cox

BEDS Plus is lucky to have Manager of Intake Danielle Cox on staff.

Danielle said her job at BEDS is a frontline point of entry for the agency. Once she receives a client's contact information, she begins the shelter or diversion screening process. She interacts with potential clients by asking screening questions such as “Where did you sleep last night?” and “What issues exist with you remaining in your current situation?” The questions determine whether a client is placed on the shelter list or diverted. Diversion is a program to help a person identify an alternate housing arrangement, or help with other services or financial assistance that is needed. Sometimes housing issues can be solved with case management, mediation, or financial assistance. Other times, the screening questions lead down a path of more serious intervention.

Danielle joined BEDS in 2019 and initially worked overnight. She asked questions about different programs at BEDS and learned new skills with each position she worked. Danielle hopes to continue to learn and grow at BEDS.

"I enjoy working with others," she said. "What better way to make change? One household at a time."
