Meet Jennifer Tudor, BEDS Manager of Permanent Supportive Housing, who joined the staff in 2019. Jennifer oversees five Supportive Housing programs and one housed after-care program.
Jennifer always knew she wanted to work in a "helping profession," but wasn't sure in what capacity. After she graduated from Drake University, she started working in the immigration field as a case manager and learned about supportive housing. She started to work in supportive housing specifically in 2016 and found that she truly loved working in the field.
A typical day on the job at BEDS for Jennifer involves supporting a team of four case managers and case aides who each specialize in a different area of supportive housing. She guides her team as they work with individuals and families through weekly check-ins, helping them to learn more about supportive housing and the positive impact the program has on people's lives. Jennifer also helps to develop new programming as well as expand services and our referral network.
"The best days are when we get to hand over a set of keys to a new client and begin a new chapter of their life with them," she said. Thanks to Jennifer for her commitment to BEDS Plus!
