Do you live in Suburban Cook County and need help paying rent and utilities during COVID-19? You may be eligible for Cook County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Visit cookcountyil.gov/rent-help for more details.
In order to contain the spread of COVID-19, shelter has been consolidated and limited to current shelter guests only. Call 708-354-0858, email email@example.com, or fill out the Contact Us form at the bottom of the page if you need assistance.
Main #: 708-354-0858
If you need shelter… call 708-354-0858. Your call will be answered by 24/7 front desk staff. Ask for ‘shelter intake’ to be connected with shelter staff. Leave a message if it is after hours and someone will return your call within one business day.
If you are at risk of homelessness… call the Suburban Call Center at 1-877-426-6515. All requests for homeless prevention and rental assistance must go through this centralized screening. If you meet minimum eligibility, you will be referred to your local agency.
If you are looking for affordable housing… this is not something BEDS can access differently than the general public. BEDS Housing Services are offered to individuals who qualify through HUD’s Coordinated Entry process for individuals and families experiencing literal homelessness. If you are looking for Section 8 or other subsidized programs, the public can access this information directly from the sources that manage them, including:
- The Housing Authority of Cook County – www.thehacc.org
- Housing and Urban Development – resources.hud.gov
If you see someone on the street… call 708-354-0858. Ask for ‘street outreach’ and provide outreach staff with the location, time of day, individual’s name (if you know it), and any physical description.
For more information on these and other services offered by BEDS, go to How We Help.
