Clients who qualify for Permanent Supportive Housing are people experiencing chronic homelessness—who have been homeless for a year or more—coupled with a disability. They can be difficult to reach and have complex needs.
Permanent supportive housing (PSH) connects them to long-term housing, case management, and supportive services.
Our Housing
In 2017, BEDS opened its flagship Ogden Avenue Supportive Housing facility, which brought 20 PSH units to La Grange. A year later, it acquired the nearby, 13-unit Dover Place. BEDS also leases 100 apartments scattered throughout Southwest Suburban Cook County. These programs include:
Wellness Initiative Network (WIN)
WIN serves people who struggle with mental/behavioral health conditions. We connect WIN clients to Pillars Community Health and other community mental/behavioral healthcare providers.
Aging Homeless
Our Aging Homeless program houses chronically homeless persons over the age of 50. We partner with South Suburban PADS and Pathlights to stabilize clients’ lives, avoid premature nursing home admittance, and reduce strains on the medical system.
Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC) Supportive Services
BEDS collaborates with the HACC to provide community case management for individuals and families with Section 8 housing vouchers.
Customized Case Management & Services
All PSH clients partner with case managers to set individual goals and regain stability and independence. Clients meet with case managers at least 16 times each month and gain access to services including:
