Many people experiencing homelessness have concurrent illnesses, mental illnesses, and human service needs that caused them to lose their home, been made worse by homelessness, and/or kept them from regaining housing. Shannon Goold coordinates healthcare, mental healthcare, and other clinical services for the nearly 1,200 clients we serve.
Ms. Goold previously worked as the Program Manager for the Near West Side Community Development Corporation’s Doors to Opportunity, a Permanent Supportive Housing facility in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. Prior to that, she held several roles with the Chicago Housing Authority’s FamilyWorks program on the Near West Side of Chicago, specifically Director of Case Management and Clinical Services and Case Management/Clinical Lead.
Shannon holds a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Washington University in St. Louis and completed MSW program internships with community-based non-profit, Family Resource Center (which became Family Forward), and the Juvenile Court of Saint Louis County’s Lakeside Residential Treatment Center. She received her BA from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.
“I approach my clients as, ‘I am a human being who wants to sit with you.’”
