Julie Daraska has been with BEDS Plus since 2014, when she was hired as a contract grant writer. Since then, she has held roles including Director of Development, Director of Grants & Contracts, and currently serves as the Compliance Officer for over $8 million in government operating funds annually. She ensures performance measures and standards are met for all government contracts and continues to develop and write grant applications. Writing remains her first love.
Julie’s career includes institutional advancement in higher education and non-profits, fundraising, and grant writing. She founded her company, Grantwriting 4 Good, after a health crisis a decade ago required her to change directions. She worked with non-profits in human services, including BEDS Plus, the arts, and K-12 education. She has been in management positions at BEDS Plus since 2018. She holds an AB from the University of Chicago and an MA from DePaul University.
