Volunteer in Three Easy Steps

Most opportunities are just 4 hours a month. Our process is simple, and our staff can orient and train you based on your area of interest.

Step One

Attend Virtual Orientation

 Sessions are held on Zoom the second Monday of each month from 7 – 8 pm. We will give an overview of homelessness, an introduction to our agency, and a review of ways you can get involved. Consider looking at our website, newsletter, Facebook page, and YouTube channel before you come. If you can’t make it, email info@beds-plus.org with your availability, and we can arrange a time to meet.

Step Two

Complete the Volunteer Application and Waiver Form.

We will add you to our volunteer database, and you can expect monthly marketing email blasts with general agency updates and calls from your coordinator.  Small groups and episodic volunteers are welcome, but the activities will require some planning with our coordinator. Children over 12 years of age may volunteer with adult support.

Step Three


Once you’ve found an opportunity, we will connect you with the on-site coordinator for the role. We’ll schedule a regular time/date/location, and you can expect to be in regular communication with your coordinator.

Meal Train

Help us serve 21 meals a week at our Triage Transitional Shelter and Medical Respite programs. You can also prepare daily bagged lunches Bridge program clients receive daily bagged lunches, and stock shelf-stable grab and go options at all our sites.


Triage Transitional Shelter and Medical Respite Support

Directly assist clients and staff at our Triage and Medical Respite locations. Shifts include:

  • 8am to noon (includes serving breakfast)
  • Noon to 4pm (Includes serving lunch)
  • 4pm to 8pm (includes serving dinner)

Information Desk, Walk-in, and Help Line Assistance

Provide low-barrier access to services through our 24-hour live phone line, Summit Center walk-in program, or Ogden Avenue Supportive Housing facility.


Help organize and staff fundraising events. Join our Fundraising Committee to assist with running and creating fundraising events and opportunities.
